The town's name means “Gwen's fortress”. Said to be where Karvargr's wife Gwendolyn lived after her husbands death, this town is named for her.
Gwen is praised as an Arch-Saint and many festivals are held in her name.
The primary religious center in the town is the Church of Gwen which doubles as both a courthouse and public hall.
The primary source of revenue in the town is the money gifted to the church and the money spent at festivals.
